I have a passion for the welfare of

dogs…and all animals.

I grew up a Colorado kid in the mountains surrounded by its beauty and of

course cats and dogs sharing our home.

​

My degree from University of Washington encompasses Zoology, Animal

Behavior and Wildlife Biology.

​

I have spent time working with Zoos and Animal Shelters assisting with

care, motivation and well-being for the creatures entrusted into their care.

I am a retired medical responder from Vail Resorts having the privilege for

a good part of my tenure being an Avalanche Dog parent, trainer and

handler.

​

My wife Colleen and I currently volunteer our time weekly at the Summit

County Animal Shelter, helping with many tasks, but primarily exercise and

enrichment of the animals given sanctuary there.

​

I approach all my interactions with these marvelous creatures in our lives

with the basis of trust, compassion and empathy. I use positive

reinforcement and appropriate guidance in my relationships with each

unique and complex creature I have the pleasure of spending time with.
